Tiivistelmä
The aim of this study was to develop a hybrid education intervention by integrating a hybrid education model to ensure the generic competencies of health sciences students. This three-phase dissertation is structured according to the Medical Research Council framework and focuses on the development phase of the intervention.
The first phase of the dissertation developed the theoretical framework for the intervention. An observational study was conducted to describe the health sciences competence and interaction that could be observed in the collaborative hybrid learning of health sciences students (n=17). The data were analysed using the coding and counting method, and descriptive analysis. A qualitative interview study was used to describe the experiences of health sciences students (n=15) on the development of health sciences competence, digital learning and the impact on digital learning to the development of health sciences competence, and the experiences of social and health care, and health sciences educators (n=21) in hybrid learning. The data were analysed using content analysis.
In the second phase, the health sciences generic competence self-assessment instrument was developed and psychometrically tested using cross-sectional data collected from students (n=276). Structural validity was analysed by exploratory factor analysis and reliability by Cronbach's alpha coefficient. In the third phase, a hybrid education intervention was developed by integrating the hybrid education model built to ensure health sciences competencies.
Based on the results of the dissertation, a hybrid education intervention was developed by integrating a hybrid education model. The model included global and digital changes in education, a high-quality hybrid learning environment and the development of health sciences competence in hybrid education. The health sciences generic competence instrument included competence in leadership, administration and finance, people-centred guidance, health promotion, evidence-based practice, digital competence, work well-being and self-management, collaboration and problem-solving and societal interaction.
The hybrid education model can be widely implemented in higher education. The intervention will allow exploring the effectiveness of hybrid education in health sciences education.
Tämän tutkimuksen tavoitteena oli kehittää hybridikoulutusinterventio integroimalla hybridikoulutusmalli terveystieteiden opiskelijoiden geneerisen osaamisen varmistamiseksi. Tämä kolmivaiheinen väitöskirja on rakennettu Medical Research Councilin viitekehyksen mukaisesti ja keskittyy intervention kehittämisen vaiheeseen.
Väitöskirjan ensimmäisessä vaiheessa kehitettiin intervention teoreettinen viitekehys. Havainnointitutkimuksella kuvattiin, millaista terveystieteiden osaamista ja vuorovaikutusta voitiin havaita terveystieteiden opiskelijoiden (n=17) yhteisöllisessä hybridioppimisessa. Aineisto analysoitiin coding & counting -menetelmällä sekä kuvailevalla analyysilla. Laadullisella haastattelututkimuksella kuvattiin terveystieteiden opiskelijoiden (n=15) kokemuksia terveystieteiden osaamisen kehittymisestä, digitaalisesta oppimisesta ja digitaalisen oppimisen yhteydestä terveystieteiden osaamisen kehittymiseen sekä sosiaali-, terveys- ja kuntoutusalan ja terveystieteiden opettajien (n=21) kokemuksia hybridiopetuksesta. Aineistot analysoitiin sisällönanalyysilla.
Toisessa vaiheessa kehitettiin sekä psykometrisesti testattiin terveystieteiden geneerisen osaamisen itsearviointimittari opiskelijoilta kerätyllä poikkileikkausaineistolla (n=276). Rakennevaliditeetti analysoitiin eksploratiivisella faktorianalyysilla ja reliabiliteetti Cronbachin alfa -kertoimella. Kolmannessa vaiheessa kehitettiin hybridikoulutusinterventio siten, että integroitiin rakennettu hybridikoulutusmalli terveystieteiden osaamisen varmistamiseksi.
Väitöskirjan tulosten perusteella kehitettiin hybridikoulutusinterventio integroimalla siihen hybridikoulutusmalli, joka sisälsi globaalit ja digitaaliset muutokset koulutuksessa, laadukkaan hybridiopetusympäristön sekä terveystieteiden osaamisen kehittymisen hybridikoulutuksessa. Terveystieteiden geneerisen osaamisen mittari sisälsi johtamis-, hallinto- ja talousosaamisen, ihmislähtöisen ohjausosaamisen, terveydenedistämisosaamisen, näyttöön perustuvan toiminnan osaamisen, digitaalisen osaamisen, työhyvinvointi- ja itseohjautuvuusosaamisen, yhteistyö- ja ongelmanratkaisuosaamisen sekä yhteiskunnallisen vaikuttamisosaamisen.
Hybridikoulutusmallia voidaan soveltaa laajasti korkeakoulutuksessa, ja interventio mahdollistaa hybridiopetuksen vaikuttavuuden tutkimisen terveystieteiden koulutuksessa.
