Abstract
Although the concept of circular economy (CE) is wise, in practice, its implementation requires a multitude of changes across several layers of our society. A new way of collaboration between organisations is needed because actors such as customers and suppliers, and their relationships, are becoming increasingly important in the transition towards CE. This requires redefining the role and form of leadership as a mediator which brings different actors together to engage and collaborate successfully. Thus, we ask in this chapter: how could leadership enable successful collaboration between different organisations in CE? We propose that an integrative and co-responsible form of leadership could be meaningful when bringing diverse organisations and groups together to create or sustain CE activities. Such leadership influences and inspires different actors to engage in joint activities. This chapter aims to offer insight into leadership activities gained from studying an established CE solution based on cross-industry collaboration.
