Abstract
This chapter explores the integral role of the Internet of Things (IoT) in shaping Industry 5.0. It establishes IoT's foundational significance in driving modern industries' evolution, emphasising its pivotal role in Industry 5.0. Then, it provides a practical exploration of IoT's applications. Real-world examples vividly illustrate how IoT technologies enhance efficiency, productivity, and innovation within industrial ecosystems. The chapter discusses the challenges in implementing IoT within Industry 5.0, such as security, data privacy, interoperability, and workforce skill gaps, offering insights into strategies for overcoming these challenges. This chapter provides a comprehensive overview of how industries can harness the full potential of IoT in the context of Industry 5.0 by combining theoretical insights with practical examples and addressing the complexities of implementation.
