Tiivistelmä
This thesis focuses on designing and implementing an LED matrix that integrates lighting and position sensing. The research explores the development of an LED and light detector matrix for visible light, addressing the limitations of classic single-point detectors by providing spatial resolution and increased sensitivity. The study explores the design, implementation, and performance evaluation of a matrix system capable of detecting visible light for various sensing applications. While the original goals included integrating an array of LEDs and photodetectors to form a versatile sensing platform, some aspects were not fully realized due to time constraints. Nonetheless, significant progress was made, including completing a 5×5 LED roof matrix as a precursor to the envisioned 5×10 matrix. The PCB for the 5×10 LED roof matrix was successfully manufactured. This research contributes to the field by providing a novel approach to visible light sensing with practical implications for future technological advancements. Future work will focus on completing the integration and further optimizing the system to fully realize its potential in applications such as environmental monitoring, industrial automation, and intelligent lighting systems.
