Tiivistelmä
This study explored the integration of sustainable Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) practices within the context of e-commerce sustainability. The research investigated the environmental, economic, and social impacts of sustainable HCI on e-commerce platforms. The study is guided by two primary objectives: to investigate how sustainable HCI practices can mitigate environmental impacts, enhance economic performance, and promote social equity in e-commerce, and to assess user perceptions of these practices. The research employs a mixed-methods approach, including a comprehensive literature review and a quantitative survey of 500 e-commerce users. Through a comprehensive narrative literature review, 45 relevant articles were identified and analyzed to address the research question: "How can sustainable HCI practices address environmental, economic, and social impacts to create sustainability in e-commerce?" The findings highlighted the significance of user-friendly and intuitive interfaces, effective communication of sustainability information, and robust search and filtering options for eco-friendly products. Additionally, the study emphasized the importance of transparent sustainability reports and ethical practices in influencing consumer behavior. The results provided valuable insights for designing sustainable e commerce platforms and proposed recommendations for future research and practical applications in the field.
