The online review landscape is a powerful force shaping consumer decisions and influencing business success. Yet, many users hesitate to contribute due to a lack of confidence or difficulty in crafting impactful reviews. This master's thesis researches the potential of AI-powered review assistants, exploring their ability to empower users and enhance the quality of online reviews.
This study analyses the impact of AI on user self-efficacy and user perception of AI assistance. The research shows that AI acts as a virtual editor, boosting user confidence and enabling a more natural review writing experience. This empowers previously hesitant users to contribute, enriching the online review landscape with a broader range of perspectives.
Furthermore, the research shows the impact on review quality. AI empowers users to craft more informative and engaging narratives, while simultaneously refining content and ensuring clear communication. This user-AI collaboration leads to the creation of impactful reviews that benefit both readers and businesses.
This research goes beyond simply demonstrating the effectiveness of AI-powered review assistants.
